If you used the Win2K tweak, then it will not work for WinME. You need to use the Patch that was made for WinME from the tweaks section. First you need to revert back to the deafult settings with this PATCH (http://www.speedguide.net/files/sguide_default_9x.zip), then you need to install the appropriate WinME Patch (http://www.speedguide.net/files/sguide_tweak_98.zip)
i had windows 2000 professional as my operating system and used this tweak from this hear site and it was the greatest thing in the world. it made my cable connection like four times as fast as it was. i was downloading programs from the net at like an average of 300k/s. my max was like 800k/s. i'm lucky if i break 100k/s sometimes now.
i have recently switched operating systems from win2000pro to windows ME. i think this tweak is supposed to work for ME as well but it doesn't. i try to install the tweak to the registry but it tells me that the file is not a registry script when i know it is.
i want my speed back. i don't want to manually tweak my registry for fear of doing it wrong and messing it all up. i'd rather do it the lazy mans way with the file. can anyone tell me why it isn't working or how to get it to work or where i can find another tweak as good that will work?
any info is good. thanks
dink.
