I was just visiting Speedcorp.net (of course, after I had read all new threads on Speedguide, besides you all seem to be friendly to each other) and I noticed that they have an option there of receiving an email when someone adds to a specific thread, irregardless of whether you were the one originating the thread. Is the feature we have currently here, or will be getting? It is damn handy. I suppose I could start a petition...

When you post new topics, there is an option on the same screen where you type your message, under the actual text, where you can choose to be emailed when someone replies. The software Speedcorp uses for their BB is basically the same, so yes, you have the same feature here. The "email notification" option only appears when you're posting new topics though.

So the question still remains then - will the option be added here to track any thread, not just one you started?

Hey, this is John from speedcorp. Yea, that is an additional code modification I added to my board, it is not an option you can just choose, you have to edit cgi code and get a big headache first http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Yea, I hope the two site are friendly! Speedcorp was born from this very forum http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/wink.gif

Out the 100TX, through the linksys router/switch, down the cable modem, over the Tap, off the bridge, past the node, straight up the gateway, past the head end office....nothing but Net

Yeah, Brent is frendly too, LOL

Anyway, I'm sick and tired of hacking this code, since they come up with a new version of the Bulletin Board every two weeks, and you have to redo all changes... Maybe with the next major version or something like that.

On the other hand, I like hacking the code :-) it's kinda a hobby plus I get to learn some perl while I am at it.
