View Full Version : How to install a fan?
I know all about overclocking an all so I got some fan n stuff, it operates on 12v (with TWO wires) how do I connect it to my computer to power it up?
Yo,
Do the wires on the fan have bare ends? If they have adapter thing on the end, you can probaly plug it into places on your motherboard. Check your MB manual for that.

Yeah, the thing has bare ends.
PS Yellow=12V
PS Red=5V
Connect black to balck, the red one on the fan to any of the yellow ones from the Power Supply...
Now for the really confusing part: http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
Even if you miss, the fan is simply not going to turn. Some people want a slow moving fan to reduce noise, so they connect it to red+yellow, getting 7V difference. 7v on a 12v fan will reduce airflow+noise, if the voltage is enough for the fan to turn...
But this is the main problem, both the fan wires are black.
Also, do i just plug those bare ends into 2 the 4 holes of the wierd 4 plug that is white??
