Gonna build a new system, anyone have any opinions on this?

AMD Thunderbird 1GHz
Asus A7V Mobo
Crucial 256MB RAM + My old 128
Sound Blaster PCI 512 Sound Card
Cambridge SoundWorks SBS52 Speakers
Elsa GeForce2 GTS Vid Card
Aopen HX08 Case
WD 45GB HD, Maxtor 40GB

Rest of the stuff (Burner, cd-rom etc) will be used from my old computer.

Sounds like a nice system, but I would get the KT7A RAID instead, because with the new KT133a chipset, it would have better upgradability in the future.

Abit KT7 RAID
Duron 600 @ 1000mhz
OCZ Monster 2 Heatsink
256mb PC133 Infineon 222

TNT2
Aureal Vortex 2

That was my first decision, but can it use a Thunderbird? Thought it was only Durons.

I have the regualar KT7 RAID, and I love it just FYI. The board accepts both durons and T-birds http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

R- Redundant
A- Array of
I- Inexpensive
D- Drives

It is a process where either information is split to be copied between multiple drives (Data Striping which increases speed) OR Data is copied to two or more drives (auto-backup)
