Since i cant OC my piece of crap 566 cele i've decided on building a new system. This is what i got so far.

voodoo 4 4500
sb live x-gamer
3com fast ethernet nic
10x dvd rom
4x 4x 12x hp burner
30 gig / 10 gig HDDS (maxtor)

i am thinking of the EPoX EP-8KTA+ mobo http://www.motherboards.com/catalog/product_info.php?category_id=4&index_id=7&subcategory_id=10&products_id=247&

Looking for a place to order a duron(800mgz prefered) for a good price, and a good case, no idea on teh case though, but i want space, 4 external bays or so, and i need room for at least to HDDs. also need cooling solutions, i do not intend on running lower than 1 ghz, would the blue orb fan be enough, i love its look http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif

would appreciate any advice, sites, or thoughts u have, thanks.

Save the money and buy a Duron 600, OC it to 800. It only runs about 2 degrees hotter.

ROFL the blue orb is a chipset cooler homey, no, it would not be enuf, get the superORB its sweet, silver with taller fins and 2 count em 2 fans in it.

G'Luck!

www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com) Duron 600 for 50 dollars...if you want cooling get the Global WINFOP 38 that is what i have on mine and it runs 25 Celecius Idle.

yeah thanks jdb, thats the one i read the review on, but i keep calling it the blue orb, so ignore me on that, i nead that its tricky to install(the Super ORB that is) is this true, what are some things to be careful of?

oh and i found this case its a 13 bay case(big http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif hehe) it says its an atx case, and teh board i want is an atx board, so does this mean that they fit?

Another question(i have plenty). Read a tip on OC online that making a duct system can increase cooler air going to the processor and i plan to do this.(thats why i want the big case. can i just connect the aluminum duct to the heat sink? keeping everythign removable of course.

Don't get a voodoo 4. Now, for the same price, you can get a GF 2 GTS at onvia.com. My duron rules http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif 600 @ 1000, fast as lightening http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif If you've got the cash, i would suggest the combos from the OCZ store, ocz.safeshopper.com . I have been very happy with mine.
BTW, the fan that comes with the combos from OCZ is much better than the SuperOrb.

lol..

why would you want a voodoo... just get a GeForce MX. It has more power, and costs less.

Forget the Voodoo and get an MX. That 4x4x12 is rather slow. Get the 12x10x32 from Plextor. As said above, the BLORB is a chipset fan for a video card. Either get an FOP32-1(quiet and good) or get an FOP38 or OCZ Monster II. Get a Duron 600 because they overclock the same as a Duron 800. You can save around $20 there. Also, you should look into Artic Silver Thermal Compound for the CPU and HSF.

Planning on that with the monster II...

still looking to know if a atx case automatically fits an atx board(abit kt7)

Im just curious to why you would get a 600 for $50 when a 650 duron is $47? I would think 1 gig would be easier to hit with the 650 right? - 1/2 less multiplier to OC
