I've managed to aquire one of these routers
you can check it out here --)http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/rt/2500/

I'm actually just wondering what the hell I'm gonna do with it. Should I sell it or use it? Any input appreciated

Just curious? When you say aquire did you buy it, steal it, find it?

neither actually, I am not a thief. Acquire sounds better then an essay on how I got the thing. So no one has any ideas for me?

I cant find it on the cisco site, is it for isdn? dsl specific or just ethernet.

I would be interested if it is ethernet.

If you cut and paste the URL from my first post you'll get to it

Heres what the description says:
The Cisco 2500 series of ethernet and token ring routers provide a wide range of branch office solutions including integrated router/hub and router/access server models.

The Cisco 2500 series routers with Cisco IOS software offer routing support for today's most widely used network protocols, including IP, Novell IPX, and AppleTalk, and a wide range of routing protocols.

As the market leader with an installed base of over 1 million units, Cisco assures compatibility and interoperability

yeah, I saw that, but could not find that specific router. it must be discontinued. does it say ringnode on the router or does it have a 10B or 100B on it? How much are you looking for out of it? I am starting my studies for my ccna and I could use it, but I'm building a house(as seen below) and don't have a lot of xtra $$. Maybe swap? maybe $$ and swap? heheheh, Dunno if I have anything of interest but got a few goodies.

There is always a way, you just might not like what you have to do to achieve it.

Actually I moved my business into a new office and had found a bunch of equipment left in the space, I just left it for about 2 months. Now I'm wondering what to do with it, I don't think they want the stuff anymore. There was something else with it, but I cant remember what, My friend had taken that to see what he could do with it, my point is i did'nt steal it. Theives are not people to me.

well, I have a couple of 10B nic's and some pc100 memory I think a 64M and a 32M hmm also a compaq 486 66 system with like 24M memory. uhh, thinking about whats on shelf in my closet. I think a ide 5400 4G or maybe its only 2G hard drive. I would have to look. Any other equipment attached to the router? cables? maybe a switch? I would work a swap and pay all shipping if it was something I could use for ethernet, I looked up the specs and the only thing I could think of was that it connects directly to a switch or something. I am not familiar enough with routers yet to know.

ok, its an isdn to ethernet or tokenring lan router. I have a friend who has an isdn line but already has a router. I could really use it for testing though(as I am entering into cisco training shortly), I dunno how much I could give you for it with me bein strapped for cash and all but Like I said above I have a few items I could barter with as well. I am interested tho. Let me know what you are looking to get out of it and I'll see if I can come up with it. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
