Recently I noticed that the price action in Neweggs and Zipzoomfly changes as you make searches several times for a product. I think they are monitoring how many hits they are getting on every items and if it gets a threshold set by them, they are raising the price accordingly.

For example. I have been monitoring the price of Asus GeForce 8800 GTX Video Card on the Zipzoomfly for few days. It was at 579.99 with free shipping until an hour ago. As a proof look at this link http://computers.pricegrabber.com/video-cards/m/29294198/search=Asus+GeForce+8800+GTX+Video+Card/sort_type=bottomline
It takes few hours to update the changes in price in search websites.

I visited their site few times today and hit on this Asus 8800GTX card. The price was same but just about an hour ago they changed it into $582.98. What a crappy business they are doing ,just 3 more dollars !

Another one QX6850 was at $1050, now it is at $1095, that also I hit several times today since it says out of stock.

They do that all the time. Again, their prerogative.

Will it retain the lower price if you put it in your wish list?

In general, what is the purpose of placing a wish list? I never understand the logic of wish list option on several websites with respect to buyers.

I think It is one of their tricks to bait people to see how many are out there waiting to buy. Don't show any demand. Buy it whenever the price hit your expectation or whenever you are ready to buy at whatever the price may be.

Also don't place orders if an item is not in stock. They simply charge your card even if they don't know when they can ship. We become their puppy and begging for the order to ship. Don't make any pre-order either, they hold the money from your account for no reason.

A wishlist is a reminder. Someone wants something, but doesn't want to pay the price advertised. When the item is a lower price or goes on sale, they should get an email.

Holding $ for a pre-order is smart. What if people pre-ordered multiple items, and then couldn't pay. That sucks for the person that could pay, but the pre-orders ran out.
