Hey Guys,
Just wondering if there is any way to link two hard drives together so that they show up as one. I know its far fetched and doesnt really even seem possible to me but i thought i'd throw it out there. Basically what i want to do is have one folder accessable over a windows network but with the combined space of two hard drives. Hopefully that makes sense. Also, I'm sure i posted this in the wrong section but i sorta need a quick answer.
Thanks in advance
Matt

Depends on the OS, but you can also span volumes.

Hey Guys,
Excellent ... thats exactly what i was looking for. So i did a bit of reading and some playing around and heres what i came up with ... A software spanned volume on a windows 2k server. But i ran into a problem, when i went to create the new volume on the unpartitioned hard drive after making them both dynamic disks ... i was only given the option of making a simple volume while spanned and striped were both greyed out. Now i remember reading somewhere that you need to format the boot disk, create a partition for windows only and then once windows is installed you can span the volumes on the unpartitioned space on both hard drives. Hopefully that made sense ... i really dont have any idea what im talking about haha. Maybe you guys know of a step-by-step tutorial specifically for spanning drives?
Thanks
Matt
