View Full Version : Timer Object ActiveX Control?
Can anyone tell me what the Timer Object ActiveX Control is and does in a computer system? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
The Timer ActiveX control used to be shipped with IE. It is no longer shipped with versions 5+.
It is a control that can be used by programmers & web authors to perform certain functions on a webpage or a program. (IE can be used to make programs!)
MS stopped including in in the IE package because IE5.5 has more enhancements for DHTML & they want programmers to start using the new featiures rather than depend upon the old ones, like that activeX control.
You can look up any MS web term here. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/index/default.asp)
TonyT, thank you for the informative reply and the link, which I know have in my Favorites folder.
