I'm connecting with an adsl line. I began to get curious about my connection speed, and so surfed over to a few web-based speed tests. Only one will work - http://www.computingcentral.com/topics/bandwidth/speedtest50.asp
The rest don't come up, and it seems to be because my browser's java is not working.
btw, I have never had a problem failing to load or use a site before (not that I noticed anyway)
I was using ie 5.0, I upgraded to 5.5 - no help. I tried ns 4.6, no help; ns 6pr - it said it needed to load a java plugin, which I did. Now when I go to restart the browser I get a windows error stating that the program has performed an illegal operation and will be closed. This before that damn thing even opens.
in ie I have java console enabled, jit compiler for virtual machine enabled, and java logging NOT enabled.
anyone know why I am having java problems? do I simply need to download a new plugin? wouldn't that have been included with i.e 5.5?
a newbie says thanks
