I'm looking to get a 4 door SUV or truck (used). It needs to have a V6, 2002 or newer year and under 70k miles on it. I have $15000 or less to spend on it. I've been browsing all over the car prices on auto trader, kbb and manufacture sites but wanted to get some real opinions/experiences before I go hunting. A big deal to me is the warranty. If it shits a part in the next 5 years I'd like to just be able to drop it off at a dealership.

Been looking at...
Toyota RAV4, Tundra and Tacoma
Kia Sportage
Nissan Pathfinder

Any opinions? :)

The RAV4 dominates the small SUV market. Granted years ago when it first came out..it was a "ladies SUV". It grew up a few years later...and a couple of years ago the last model change really matured it. Avail with a potent V6 of 260 or 280-ish horse...it'll 0-60 in under 7 seconds. And still have decent gas mileage.

The Pathfinders are popular...I'm sorta not a Nissan fan...but my colleague at work has one, loves it.

Jeeps Liberty is another popular one in this class...I have one. Honks on the highway. And what I like about it..the usual Jeep ruggedness...as I beat the crap out of my vehicles, and drive them hard...very hard, and fast.

Infiniti QX4 same as the Pathfinder with more lux.

Chevy Silverado 1500 seems to be the truck of choice see them more than the F150 and seems pretty relaible.

Sure, a Santa Fe is a good choice, if you have a vagina.

The Pathfinders are nice but they have flaws. Back seats(both rows) are not adjustable. Front ones dont adjust enough.

Nothing sturdy inside to attach bungie cords or rope to, just a couple little cheap ones.

There is a toyota dealer in my home town. I was gonna walk in and see what they had for like 17k. If I liked any of it I would tell them if they can make all the final numbers work out to be 15k after taxes I would pay cash.

Hyundi is tempting for the warranty. If I bought a 2004 wouldn't I get like 7 years warranty with it for free?

Either a Pathfinder or a Tacoma.

Long story short every used car dealer tried to work me over (not that I'm surprised). Bad news is when people try to do that I get pissed instead of ignore it. So I wouldn't buy anything from them.
