Jesus, I was 2 seconds from clicking buy now at newegg two years with that processor in my shopping cart. Retail was $400. Times change.

Fantastic processor. Definatly worth the $$ !

I did buy the x2 3800 two years ago from newegg, first day it was out. I paid 425 after shipping.

It has served me very well, can't see upgrading for quite some time still. :thumb:

I ordered one today. The one I have now is only running one core. I do not know why, but it happened after Windows XP Home Update.

Anyone have the same problem with only one core running? My BIOS is showing two cores on startup, but AMD CPU Info and task manager is showing only one core running. :confused:

I can't run the SMP client with it right now.

Thanks for your quick reply.

There is no new bios update for my motherboard. Had already checked for it.

Windows Update changed something to not to run 2 cores. I also have the latest drivers for all hardware.

I tried what you suggested but still no joy.:mad:

I did a Windows XP Home re installation and still no go.

XP home fully updated should allow 2 cores.
