bad comman or file name

when i am boooting up i see a line that says:

C:\[REM Header]
bad command or file name

i looked in my autoexec.bat file there are 3 other remarks like that for the cd rom drive, display, & misc. but, i only get the error for the header remark. any ideas as to what could be causing this? or how to fix it?

Common Scrum... You can't put a c:\ in front of a rem statement, it has to be before the c:\

rem c:\
not c:\rem
