well, my master IDE channel is dead, dont know why or how, hooked up both hdd's to the seconday with the same ribbon no issues.
so i came to the idea this is all bios realted,
now that i look at the date, my usb died a day after i tried the beta bios from asus (leason learned) then random reboots, then when computer restarted, it would not post, had to turn of with plug, turn back on. it always post's after second power up, never first
nic started going crazy, now my master ide :(
time for a new mobo, good thing i started working again. just going to build a whole new rig (cheapest possible)

Keeping things simple go with the abit 32x $350 mobo, corsair $400 RAM, and Intel 6700 quad core for only $950 :p

running on my 2 200 gig sata's, i used one drive for the page file alone and the other for temp files alone (changed the path in the variables section) so ne big loss really
I agree. IDE is dead. SATA is the future.

Why don't you reflash the BIOS to the previous working version?
did you try a new CMOS battery yet ?
I got a mobo cheap....Asus P5B vanilla......even got some sticky stuff from the heatsink I mounted (lesson learned:D )
joel has got some e6300's for dirt in the hot deals forums also ...

yea i saw those 6300's, if i get paid in time ill pick one up.
as far as flashing back the bios, i tried the cmos clear and you cant flash back from beta bios's. guess it common on asus boards 9(or at least my model) cause lots of people posted issues on not being able to flash back
You should go ahead and buy some mushkin ram with "Type R" painted on the side too (only 800 bucks from rivas' friend :D). Good luck finding hardware -- give us a price range so we can make recommendations. :)
