Okay this may just be the old age of this system, but I want to see if anybody has any ideas of the cause. My older system. A XP 2000+ custom built with a GeForce3 Ti 200 is having a flickering issue with the monitor. It is a very small flicker but enough to mess with your eyes. I have tried two different monitors and even swapped out the card for another one and the effects do not change. Is there anything else that could be causing this interference on the monitor? I hope I described the issue enough. Hard to explain. I can go into more detail if need be.

BTW the OS is pclinuxos.

thanks

Sounds like you need to bump the refresh rate up.

Sounds like you need to bump the refresh rate up.

I thought about that but Linux is suppose to automatically use the optimum settings for your monitor. I looked at the settings for this monitor and the range set in Linux is as below.
VendorName "NEC"
ModelName "NEC MultiSync 75"
HorizSync 31.0-70.0
VertRefresh 55.0-120.0

I thought about editing them in x11 conf but I do not know what to change them to.

I dunno what to change in there either, but linux doesnt always optimize refresh rates.

Thanks for the help. I think I have found the optimal refresh rate. So far no flickering. Hope it stays that way.
