I am having a problem with ME and the free space on my hard drive(s). When I try to download soemthing after a certian a point it says I have no room left on my drive even though I have 2 GIGS free. It's like this for my other partitons too and it seems to give me the message when I get to 10% free space. I turned off the recylce bin and set the system resotre the the minimum. What can I do to actually use my whole drive?
Well im not really sure why it does that,, Im just helping you out by putting the Topic at the top where people can see it.. Sorry i cant help and Hopefully someone can.

Hell I'll take a stab at it... Maybe its your swap file? Could be that windows is trying to use it that much disk space. This is only a guess but couldn't hurt to set it to a fixed size.

I actually disabled the recylce bin in the 2 partitiions but still can't use 10% of the space and the swap file would not effect drives D and E as they have nothing to do with it. I'd really like to use this 3 gigs of space I have, I think i'll switch to Win2K.

Cpl,
I just checked my Recycle Bin settings. I
think I just found a BUG, because even though
I have the setting under Global at 5%, if
I click on each partition, it is greyed out
at 10% (the default).
So, have you tried setting each partition's
recycle bin separately?
It's a thought....hope it works.

I had a similar problem, it said I Had 7 gigs free when in reality I had 10 gigs free... I scan disked and it found some errors and now I got my 10 gigs back... So try that..

I ran scandisk and it seemed to work. I also think that if you reduce your recycle bin, a restart is needed to make the changes.
