View Full Version : How has your upgrade been?
For me my service has been "poop". Games are unplayable.Download and upload speeds are really bad.If i can hit 1Mbps im happy most of the time its around 350 to 800K upload speed is not worth posting. The first two hours after the upgrade it was great since then it has been nothing but a nightmare.I'm going to gave them another week or two before i start to complaining but this is becoming really bad.I can see a few days of slow service but it has been two weeks and its not getting any better.I have a SB5101 and Im not sure why my service has been this bad. So back to my question,How has your service been since the upgrade?
Thanks.

The upgrade has been great on my end. Nothing to complain about yet. Where abouts are you btr1?
Have a look around here to see if your area is experiencing problems with the upgrade.

Pings are total crap here as well. My clan's server is located in Chicago and I usually ping in the low teens. As of this evening im anywhere from 80ms to 400ms+ Definitely unplayable. :(
I've give Insight some time to work out all the issue's though. Im sure upgrading the entire network isn't easy. My speeds / downloading have been great, just latency issue's.
*edit*
From what I've read, it's not exactly Insight more than Sprint. From whom Insight uses for their backbone. I think it's a bad router up in Chicago causing the problems.

*UPDATE*
A fiber line was cut in the Chicago area which caused all of the problems. A lot of us was re-routed through ATL than CHI. Things are back to normal now. Pings and Speeds. :thumb:

Insightbb - Louisville more specifically towards Taylorsville = billtown rd. node.
since 'upgrade' speed tests at speakeasy.net are <1mbit..absolutely pathetic.
Going on 7 weeks now with ping spikes to 3200ms constantly. Not uncommon
to have a speed test <100kbps..
30+ phone calls, numerous text chats, nothing but lies lies lies. Finally went
down there and spoke with a head noc guy who fess'd up to the truth and
2 weeks after that they did a node balance and my speeds came up a bit.
However, ping still spikes to 200 very often. Gaming was impossible for 6
weeks, now is possible but annoying as hell.
Insight did a 2.5x upgrade in bandwidth to all customers system wide and did
nothing to prepare for people actually using the bandwidth. Just flipped the
switch and zap their whole network turned to JUNK.
Since the node balance last week Im getting 1.5mbit on average.. upload is
300-400kbit average. Ive tested at 4-5AM and gotten 9.6mbit, so I know
its possible, but the fact is that they dont have the bandwidth allocated to
support it. These people are idiots down there. So many lies and then some.
One guy actually blamed it on hackers from russia and japan, another guy
suggested it was my cell phone interferring with my wireless router...YEAH
UH HUH.. Their phone techs were kept in the dark about it themselves for
weeks until finally enough calls came in they were told the truth.
for 6 weeks at near dialup speed I was NEVER offered a credit. I finally had to
ask for one and got it one for 30 days.. then I had to keep asking for the next
3 weeks credits every few days while the problem continued.
Insight's datacenter swapover from St Louis area to Louisville has been
horrific. Their engineers are morons. Yes, I know there is a problem with a
Chicago backbone now, and thats probably why Im getting the 200-250 ping
spikes all day now, which is better than the 1000ms-3200ms ping spikes
I got before they balanced the node, but still, they dont have a clue whats
going on down there at all.
Before their swapover my connection was the best I ever seen, never a hicup,
never a stutter, fast, reliable, perfect. Since then they're JUNK.
If I had any other option I would cancel immediately but I dont. Its sad what
they have become, and the lying, omg, was just laughable.

Getting any better Disturbed? It definately depends on where you live regarding the Insightbb network. I know that IN and KY are experiencing your problems. Here in IL, the transition has been rather smooth minus the fiber cut near Chicago.
