Telus: only half of an internet connection

As far as uptime goes the service is great. but you really only get half an internet connection. if you have dreams of running a httpd, ftpd or a ircd without redirects, think again. These services just start the list off. the ports are blocked

shaw is the alternative they have more open ports

I have all listed above and it's working.
Telus is rolling out finally ADSL2+ 25mbit+ for 40 bucks a month
Using shaw only because i need more upload speed.
