I'm trying to replace the drive belts on an 88 suburban but U can' firgure out how to get them on...

It has a 7.4L engine V8 2 wheel drive as far as I know...

Are there any special tools I'm gunna need to finish the job? I can't get the between the fan and drive pully

is that a serpintine belt ?

if so there should be a diagram in the engine compartment to show you how it winds around, on my dodge it took some thinking to get it back on the correct way, plus the first belt they gave me was too long.

i just needed a ratchet to loosen the belt tensioner and had to snake it around the fan.

My manuals don't go back as far as 88, but mid 90's & up 7.4 should look like this:

There's 3 belts, one serpintine belt and two V-belts.
