Insightbb Roll Call

Who here has Insightbb? What speed package do you have? Any problems since the since to their own network? Any rumors to the speed upgrade? If so, what speed will they be offering? I've heard 6mb / 384k range for the basic package? And for the plus package...im not sure. For $35 extra dollars a month it should be no less than 10mb / 1mb range IMO.

Personally regarding the network change, I was down for about a day. Didn't notice any difference in pings / speeds. Actually, speeds were a bit better. :)

Insight here in KY is $44 a month for 4mb down.... $75 for 6mb down... expensive if you ask me. Insight is owned by AT&T?

I think Insight is their own seperate company, but not totally sure. BigMo here is a Insightbb tech (I think) so im sure he would know. :)

They (Insightbb) recently changed over from AT&T's network over to their own dedicated network. Rumor has it Comcast will be buying out Insight, area's at a time.

If and when I get my home pc back from the shop, I'll start posting some speed test's for any one interested.

Insight offer's their services in parts of OH, KY, IN and IL.

hey you are faster than me !! I seldom get above a 3.3mb down... compared to what others have, I say we are on the short end of the stick...:wth:

Since their datacenter change 4-5 months ago I lose connection to
servers daily, randomly. 5-10 times per day. Before that no lost connections
at all.

Since their 'upgrade' I went from 4mbit to 100kbps.. yep thats right.
100 kbps. Lucky to get 500kbps. After 6 weeks they finally did a node
balance (I was told there were 182 people on my node and it was allocated
bandwidth for 100) my speed has now increased to 1.5mbit. Whoopee..
From 4mbit to 1.5mbit..At least my 3200ms ping spikes are now down to
200ms spikes. Still, very annoying, Gaming was impossible for 6 weeks,
totally impossible. Lost connection to instant messaging programs 30
times per day, and couldnt even keep a connection long enough to send a
3mb jpeg in email. Very pathetic. This was all day, every day for 6 weeks.
Not just a couple of instances. Primetime hours were even worse. I ran
numerous speed tests to speakeasy and got 96kbps, 76kbps, etc.

Since last weeks node balance, a lot better, but still nowhere near 10mbit.
I got downgraded, 30+ phone calls, so many lies I cant even count, truly
a pathetic company down there, shady, deceptive, and their own phone
support people arent being told the scope of the issue.

All in total, Im at 7 weeks now since the 'upgrade' and still my connection
is sub-par. Before their datacenter swapover from ST Louis to Louisville
my Insightbb connection was the best. Solid. Never a hicup, never a glitch.

Their network people down there are clueless.

I wouldnt recommend their service to anyone who has ANY other
option. For myself, I have no option for broadband besides them, however
at 100kbps I hardly consider that broadband, so it makes me think.

Im in contact with their noc every day recently, and from what I can tell,
they truly have no real interest in fixing it. So, from 4mbit to 1.5mbit I guess
thats what I get. Oh well..
