Don't need to save anything, if I do I do it manually, what are the best settings for home user who justs uses the computer three or four times a day? I like it to go on standby around 5 minutes. Then why odes it always give an error code when playing with the settings?? Thanks in advance

Is your MOBO ACPI compliant? Make/model of the motherboard?

Also, there is a hardware forum for these types of questions.

Ah, OK, it's a Media Center PC, thought that it may have been an old PC.

Should've asked this before, but what is the exact error message that you're getting?

Personally I'm a fan of flipping them to "Never" for everything as far as turning off. Never spin down hard disks, never power down monitor, and never ever hibernate. And the "When I press the power button"..I change it from standby to power off.

Most newer mobo's are APIC, ACPI became outdated a bit ago...bigger difference being in how IRQs are handled (twice as many now)
