Its usually a given that the next generation consoles look better than the last, even on normal TVs.

yup 360 is comparable to some pc games when hooked to an hdtv set. I haven't picked one up yet, can't justify the price for the small selection of games. ALSO both games i want i can get on the pc! (COD2 and GRAW)

I hooked it up to my HD lcd TV 27" and it was looking great. Then i decided im gonna try it on 61" WS HD DLP monitor and what a difference. Its looking way better over there.I picked one at dell they had special on it for $400 bucks with 2 wireless controlers,HDD,XBOX LIVE and 1 free game.(around 320 USD).
Like i said before i dont play games at all but now im really hooked up.Its awesome.Gonna buy DEAD RISING tomorrow i hope its available over here already.

Yeah, Dead Rising should be out in Canada as well, but be warned, the game is very old school in many ways. Boss fights that can be a little tough (assuming you aren't well-armed when you walk into them, as a hockey stick won't do much against a sniper rifle), the save system is less than forgiving (I understand why it was done that way, but it can still be a pain), and you have very little time for free-roaming, at least on your first time through the game. Also, weapons don't even seem to last as long as they did in System Shock, so be prepared to watch your sledge hammers or katanas break after a dozen or so swings.

Actually, it isn't that scary. If anything, it has a tint of a cheesy B-movie zombie flick versus the more dead-on type you'd see in Resident Evil (well, at least the RE games that don't feature "the master of unlocking" and such). It's a very bloody game, no doubt, but I wouldn't call it scary.

If you have XBL (Silver or Gold), they have a playable demo you can download. It's time limited (~15 minutes) and only gives you a small portion of the mall, but it should give you an idea of how it plays.

what do the mods do? does it void your live accounts?
first off you have to take it out, connect it to sata on your pc,make a back up of the firmware (the original one) and then upload there new firmware (hacked one).If you wanna connect to live you have to upload there the original firmware and vice versa. You need kit for it,it cost like 25 bucks i think.
If im not gonna be able buy Dead Rising this week im downloading it.

I agree with you on games like shooters or RTS titles (as good of a job EA did in putting LOTR:BFMI2 on a console, it's a pain in the ass to control compared to the keyboard and mouse on a PC), but I feel that other types are better suited for a gamepad (be it for a console or PC). I tend to prefer controlling sports, racing (if no wheel is being used), platformers, and most action titles with a gamepad.

Oh yeah, racing I agree with, I use a belkin nostromo for my computer when play NFS. Never played sports games on my computer though, only the console, since I only play with friends.

The PS2 version lacks many of the Sportscenter-themed highlights and halftime presentations that the XBOX one has, unless you had the PS2 HDD installed (NFL 2K5 was one of, like, 6 games that actually used the damn thing).

The gameplay is still 100% spot-on on the PS2 though.

Escort missions will give you loads of PP, and boost your rank. When you begin to get tips regarding the cult that's hanging around the movie theater, make sure you do those few missions. Each cultist is worth a chunk of PP and there's a hefty bonus for finishing the last one in that section.

Don't forget to take pictures as well. A good 300~1000PP per picture can add up fast.

If you don't mind a possibly tough boss fight for a low level character, check out the "Huntin' Shack" in the North Plaza (it depends on the time and date if you get a boss fight or not). There are a few shotguns, sniper rifles, and a ton of pistols that you can snag from there.

Also, each time you pass through the Paradise Plaza, don't forget to snag the uzi, katana, and a couple of Nectar shakes while you're there.

This the fight in the food court? Use a pillar or some other object for covering most of your body, but make sure your shots aren't being deflected by it as well. But when you find a good cover spot, stay there. Carlos will go running around and will enter your line of sight from time to time, so don't bother hunting him down.

If you have the Uzi and score a couple of headshots, it'll make the battle much quicker.

Brad can take care of himself to a certain extent, so worry about your own character's health more than his. You can always toss him a pizza (there's a small PP bonus for cooking one up) or something after the fight if you want him to have full health again.

Also, keep in mind that the game retains your levels and stats (but not your items) when you begin a new game. If you tell the game you want to start over after you die (instead of reloading your save game), you'll begin the game again, but at your current level. By the time you make it back to Carlos and Brad in the food court, you should be a couple levels higher than you were the first time.

Well, I've pretty much played it to death, but I still pick it up now and then for a little mindless fun (ie, skipping the story modes). But it's rare that I run into a game these days (console or PC) where, after beating it, all I want to do is start it all over again. RE4 was also one of those games.

Yep, once you hit a certain time (10:00 or so? I honestly can't remember what time), they start to be a little more aggressive, but there's also a trick to take out a pack of them quickly that you'll find out on your first night.

There really aren't any big monsters, just "boss" fights which are typically against a variety of psychopaths. Some of them can be pretty hard for a low level character depending on what weapons you have equipped, which is why it's always a good idea to have an uzi and a katana whenever possible (which is hard to do with the few item slots you start with).

There was like 80 of them standing in front of the store,i hit them 6 times i think and they were gone lmao
Now i'm close to gun shop, and food market, food market is overcrowded with zombies died there already 5 times, gonna find the gun shop first.

Right next to the supermarket is a shop that sells a variety of bladed weapons (which are free for the taking, of course), so it's easy to stock up on katanas or swords. And with all of the food in the supermarket, as long as you can get away from the zombie horde long enough to grab some food (milk works well), you can heal up fast.

My advice is to ignore the food store for now (you'll find yourself in that area later in the game) unless a scoop leads you there.

This map may help you a little.

The gun shop is N127 on the map (in the North Plaza). Again, be warned that you may have to face a psychopath in order to get to the weapons.

You can find an SMG in the fountain in Al Fresco Plaza, on the blue fašade above the camera shop in Paradise Plaza (you can hop onto it from the staircase on the right side), and in the underground tunns (not recommended early in the game).

Ok ....going next door to hardware store and there are hanging bodys without head and there is next freaking psychopat,he is huuuuge completely covered in blood ...of course i'm dead right a way lol.So starting over this time im avoiding gun shop or hardware store and outside is waiting for me army jeep with freaking huge machine gun ...kills me and the girl in a second.I'm going postal lol
Btw i like more hunting knife then katana, its faster, more accuracy and doesnt break so fast. But of course it doesnt kill 5 zombies at once.I have to find a way how to kill the psychopats i'm level 7,i'm fast and i have good offense.
I love when there are like 60 zombies at one place, grabing my katana ,few swings and its clean :D

WHich one psychopat carrys them ?

Jim

The tunnel key is in a maintenance room in the tunnels. Otis left it in one of the rooms, and there's another SMG there too. Once you have the key, you can easily go from the mall to the underground tunnels.

That being said, outside of one or two particular missions, there isn't much of a need to be down there, unless you're trying to rack up your killed zombie score.

Stock up on SMGs, katanas or swords, and a couple of nectars (or even some queen bees if you'd like).

If you want to make it a little easier, just head for the theater with Sean in it, don't bother with the other theaters filled with the nuts. That way, you'll only have to deal with one pack of them.

Edge along before taking the right turn into that screen, where all the psychos are hanging out, and they won't attack you unless you got too close. Use the SMG in single fire, and if you aim right, you should be able to take them down with a single bullet each with a headshot. You can also "force" them to go berserk (where they bust out the TNT), and shooting them in this state can easily kill most of those around him.

Inside the theater, just wait for Sean to attack you. Dodge it, and get in a slice or two with your own sword (don't get greedy, just one or two). If you need to heal for a bit, run up the stairs (Sean will follow you) and jump back off to the lower section. It should buy you just enough time to drink a nectar. Wash, rinse, repeat, until he's dead.

Heh, it seems like you've got quite the thing for Isabella. Here's (http://www.capcom-central.com/shows/CapcomGamersDay06/DeadRising/art/Isabella.jpg) a high res shot of her for you. ;)

Here's my (cheap) way to defeating Carlos and getting rid of the bombs. First, make sure you have at least an uzi or two and a couple of nectars. You probably won't need a katana, but it won't hurt if you have the inventory space for it.

Take the motorcycle into the tunnels. Turn left and get rid of the bomb in the truck there (you may want to use the bike to mow down some zombies to give you a little breathing room first). Ditch the bike and grab the working truck next to it. Head DIRECTLY to the maintenance room where you found the key (the one with the SMG in it), leave the car just to the side of the door, and enter the room.

If you're just running around the tunnels on foot, you have to deal with the zombies, Carlos' driving, and his grenade tossing. But for some reason, if you stand just inside the open doorway, Carlos will simply try to run you over, smashing into the doorway again and again. Just stand a foot or so away from the door frame, and pop him with headshots through the windshield of his vehicle. After you do a bit of damage to his health, he'll take off. I don't know if he comes back on his own, but if you run after him, he'll come driving back in seconds (when you see the reflection of his headlights on the wall, start running back to the safe haven of the room). Repeat until Carlos is defeated. With him out of the picture, all you need to do is concentrate on the bombs, as the zombies don't put up much of a fight on their own (but they will probably multiply in numbers after Carlos is gone).

If you bust up the truck, there's a car in one of the parking sections in the tunnels that you can use. Otherwise keep running and dodging the zombies if you have to go on foot (jump kicks can be effective at knocking some back), and if you see someone carting a giant gas container, give it a bullet, as it'll take out everyone in the area.

Thanks :thumb:
So i shouldnt follow the arrow at all and turn left ....right ?
Thanks for the pic as well, yes i do have a thing for Isabella (Philip why dont we have hearts in smilies ? :irate: ),too bad it isnt real person Jim :rotfl:

You'll take a left first to get to the first bomb and the other truck. After that, head directly for the maintenance room.

Uzi, smg, whatever you want to call it. The machine gun with 100 bullets. :p

Pause the game when you're in the tunnels and bust out the map. The room with the red circle around it is the maintenance storage room.

Try to keep a queen bee or a nectar on you for an emergency. Tossing the queen in the crowded tunnels can easily kill the closest 100 zombies surrounding you.

Otherwise, just RUN and jump kick when you need to.

Just take some healing supplies and an SMG if you can.

Fire at him from behind some of the tables/counters in the butcher's shop. It'll deflect some of the stuff he throws at you, but if he throws a hunk of meat, dive out of the way.

If you run out of nectars or any healing supplies, you should find a couple cartons of milk around the shop that should heal you up a little.

Take the supplies into the room with you. After he does some action, such as tossing a hunk of meat at you, then grab a milk off the counter, and hopefully you'll have enough time to drink it before he strikes again. But stay behind those counters.

Where are you starting from? If you're loading a save from the security room, grab the one in paradise plaza on your way out.

If you're already there, just find whatever you can (knives and such) to throw at him. It may take some time, but you can wear him down.

Basically, you're just killing time until your chopper arrives. Feel free to do as you like until your exit time comes, just make sure you're up on the roof at that time.

It's not over yet though...

The game did well enough and leaves more than enough open that there will probably be a sequel. Someday... At least until then, you'll now have a new survival mode unlocked. It's not quite a free roaming version of the game, basically a test to see how long you can survive with limited resources.

As far as upcoming horror games, there isn't much on the horizon, at least for now. The 360 has a couple of horror-themed shooters (the port of FEAR, Gears of War), but it'll be at least a couple months before they hit. Next year, there's Bioshock, Alan Wake, Alone In The Dark, and hopefully Resident Evil 5.

Thanks bud
My xbox is modded but i was buying the games anyway until now.
I went next day to the store and i told them i dont like the game and i would like to exchange it for NHL ...they said no, and when i asked why they said i might have rip it.So i told them if i wanted rip the game i could go to Rogers or Blockbuster and rent it for 5 bucks .Well they didnt exchange me the game, 75 bucks, so i downloaded the NHL, way better, but i had to buy DL DVD.
The modding is easy, all you need is Connectivity kit, take out the HDD, connect it to your computer with the SATA kit, backup the original bios, and reflash it with new one.Takes approx 1-2 hours if you never did it before, now i can do it in 15 minutes.

It's one of the backwards compatible titles, yeah.

The full list can be found here (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm).

As far as the remote goes, I haven't used it, but I usually like Logitech's stuff. Right now, I'm still in the dark ages, with 6 or so remotes sitting on my table, so I should probably look into something like that soon.
