ati took over default player

Installed a new ati vid card and the software that came with it (ati multimedia) became my default media player and I can no longer even open the window media player. Any ideas where I can once again set that(window media player) as default player? Thx in advance.

un-install the proggie then re-install using custom and dont check the box that says "use as default player"

heh, that should do it if you can un-install etc.

Open Explorer:


Depending on the OS, look for the {b]Folder Options Menu------>File Types----->then just look for the appropriate file extionsions (mpg, avi, asf....) which you want to associate with Media Player and then edit them appropriately. It's pretty much self explanatory once you get to the File Types Menu. Hope this helps.
