On a client's computer I built a couple years back, she wants to upgrade to yet another HD. She currently has 2 HD's and 2 CD-RW drives.

At this point, do I need a PCI IDE card? I figure thats the only option.

Or get an PCI SATA or SATAII card so you can have something that could then be carried over to a newer PC when that time comes, or even a nicer hard drive(16MB buffer).

Only see PCIe SATAII cards on newegg.

Why dont you just add one large HDD and make 2 or 3 large partitions and copy all the old data over to the new drive and then you will have one ide open for later on!:)

another option is to use an external drive either USB or firewire, might be a good thing if it is for backing up data as well.

no SATA ports on the mobo ?
