ADSL....... QUESTION

hello,

i have a cable modem now, but due to some people on the shared box or whatever it's called, i was considering ADSL around my area. i heard the uploads were not too bright, so how can i increase the uploads? thanks. this site's been a great help to me....

and if anyone out there can fix cable speed, because my ping is bad on quake II, and the downloads are slow (20kbs-50kbs). thanks.
