Yeah, for home service, insane! Cablevision only services the NYC Metro Area though. What speeds does Adelphia offer?

adelphia offers 256/3mb for $45.95

I get 700/2575 now for $29.95 mo with verizon dsl so I have no complaints and I like the stability I get.

but WOW! man your speeds are killer. :)

If they discontinued alternate side parking, and offered OOL in Manhattan, I'd move back! :D

No one I know has those speeds with Optimum...unless they live in the boondocks and no one else is on their node. Thats fantastic.

Keep in mind though that I am downloading off of an internal FTP, but still, impressive nonetheless. When I am downloading off of major servers, I will usually reach my max, and if I download with Download Accelerator, lol, forget about it! And where I live, everyone has OOL, so it is weird that I get these speeds.

Correct Dan :-) I started with Verzion ADSL a many years back after good old dial-up, and they have "grandfathered" my account with the increase speed for hardly no price increase "3 times" now :thumb: .

However, some people still have problems with them because of distance from the CO and old fiber lines.. at least that is the way it is where I live here on the East Coast.

Compare to Comcast Cable.. "still" the speed of ComCast goes down "less" then 768Kbs at peak hours because there are so many people on each node.. for a lot more money...
So.. in my neck of the woods.. Verzion is a great deal. :)
I get almost 3 Megs down and 768 up just a bit under the cap.. possible tcp overhead..
Of course the SpeedGuide Optimizer Tool helped me out. :-)

I'll be looking at Verizon FIOS service whenever it gets here next.

I have Verizon DSL and I can only get the 768 down and 138 up service because I am 14,400 feet from CO

So that hurts me - I would like to have the Speed

Duz:) :)

Wow, and I thought that was too far. I am at 3,000 feet.
