Cisco 1721 and Cox.net

I'm a cisco newbie and would like to connect my Cisco 1721 directly to my cable modem (Toshiba PCX1100U).
I have Cox.Net broadband.
Has anyone ever done this? I would like to see your startup-config.
Seems when I connect the two devices, Cox puts me in a 10.0.0.0 network that I can't escape from.

Any help would be appreciated.

For that router you need a WIC "wan interface card" installed and a swtich
Did you setup the IP address for the router?you need to set it up!
Can you consol to the router and paste your config
Router#show ip int brief
