2 internet browsers

i have two internet browser, the IE and Avant. how can i select wich one will be the main one , the one wich open first

For IE - open IE, then Tools, then Internet Options. Programs tab then check IE for default.

Oh, this is for Win98. I assume XP will be very similar.
