I am using a linksys wireless g router and wireless g card for a laptop. I have a 128-bit wep key I created on the router. When turn on the laptop while the card is inserted, or if I insert it while it is on, the icon on the bottom right is telling me that the card is trying to connect. When it finally does, it says "Limited or no Connection” So, I right click the icon and "View available wireless networks." I have to disconnect from the "limited connection" router, and just as soon as it disconnects, I press the connect button. It tries to connect to the router again, now it asks me for the wep key which is already saved into the fields, so all I do is press ok, and finally the card and the router are one. Why do I have to do this what seems to be unnecessary step of disconnecting and reconnecting to the router? I don't think I had this problem with sp1. Any help? It drives me nutz!!

Thanks to anyone who helps!

There was some major changes in sp2 in the wireless dept. I don't use wireless too much because I need a gb network but I have dabbled a little bit.

Try setting the router to accept your MAC address for authentication.

Yea, I already did that to prevent people into the router.... I need my waves floating in everywich direction to be encoded with my wep. Thats why I did both, but now I need me to be able to get on my router with out the pain.
