Anyone Knows How to setup FTP with ROUTER?

Hi guys
i have trouble with settin up a FTP in router. I have SMC7004ABR & Serv-U program.

Does anyone knows how to setup these things???

you need to forward the correct port on your router to the comp/IP running the FTP Prog.

I think it's port 21..
not sure..


alternatively, you could put that computer in DMZ.
I do NOT recommend you do that though..

I can't tell you specifically..every router is different.


if 21 is indeed the correct port.
you have to go to your routers webpage to port forwarding or something of that sort, and forward port 21 to your computer.

ftp uses two ports. Try forwarding 21 and 20 - better would be to check the documentation for Serv-U and find out which ports it uses for PASV ftp.

FTP can be very complicated when both machines are firewalled.
