MORE packets sent then received?? when browsing

I have a MA311 netgear wireless card and a wirless router. Before I RE-installed windows XP I had great download speeds. Every since reinstalling windows they suck.

I get about 10kb/s download. I noticed that on the "Activity" it has a lot more packets sent then received. Example right now: sent-3250, received 3156. Is that right? Im just browsing and not uploading anything

General web browsing requires your computer to talk to web servers and vice versa.. For me to load www.google.com on my PC, I will send a total of 5 or 6 packets and receive only 3 or 4, so from that regard, it looks to be quite normal..

As to your change in download speed, I'm not sure. Perhaps you have something running that is creating more overhead than before?
