Im new with cable modems just got mine today the comp says my throughput is 15204 kilobits per sec is that ok, or should i download some stuff to get more thx

I think u need to use a diff speed test as that report is way too high. Try the speed test here (http://www.dslreports.com/stest). Also, try d/ling a large file from a fast corporate site, such as 3dfx.com.

Try the patch (http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/cable_patches.shtml) that corresponds w/ur OS/situation, then run some mo' tests and c what happens.
