installed along with my GB of XMS PC3200. WOW! what a difference from my XP2100 and 512 MBs. The computer boots in about 20 seconds, logs in in a snap, applications load in nanoseconds and the gaming experience is quite nice.
Now I just need to upgrade from this a7n8x mobo and I'm set.

yeah man, I figured that i would see a subtle difference, but really, it's jsut amazing. Nice performance boost for $250:thumb:
what are people using to benchmark these days anyway? might have to load up some tests and post some results.
I'm in about the same boat as you. Thanks for the info. I've had my finger on the trigger for a 400fsb 3000 barton for some time. The only difference is that I'm currently running a 2500+ with a gig or ram on that same board.
good to know.

If You Have a 2500 Barton OverClock it to a 3200 - 11x200 400 Mhz - if the Barton is un-locked it will run at 3200 real Nice - I have My 2500 Barton running fine at 3200 speed just watch the temps and move the FSB up slow and run Memorytest86 after each move - it will Overclock nice

mine over clocks very well, my system is in my sig, when i purchased these items i did soem research b4 my purchase and did a good job, my average temp is in the low 30C's and my average dirty heat sink temp is 43C
i have gotten my cpu to boot into windows and play games for almost a solid hour or longer before some thing happens and closes the game, doesnt crash but just closes the game, i feel it's hl2's fault.
any wyas i have hit 2.46ghz and played hl2 for close to an hour before i got the memory error (witch i get when im not over clocked that far any ways.)
currently i am at 2.36ghz and i run this every single day perfectly fine. and no problems.
oh btw i just got http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-454&depa=0
