View Full Version : For my bro...

I think I might be convincing him to get the Athlon, the price tag is very tempting. So, he started to want a micro ATX system, and we found a sweet case in that form factor. I believe the mobo is good, just needs to be able to raise the FSB a little to 200. I know the case doesn't have a whole lot of fans, but they are like right there.

Few questions. The PSU is a Sparkle 200 watt. Think that's good enough for the system?
Think the board will OC the FSB fine?

The video card will be many times better than what he need it for, and raising the FSB on the CPU should be without a hitch 3200+. Under $450 after shipping isn't too bad.

Tell me what you think:

And, no, don't tell me to switch to intel! Money is what you'd call "limited". This should get through college easy, and it's pretty inexpensive. I've already got 2000 Pro, and I think he has a monitor.

Looks good..... except for I don't really care for micro atx that much.

200 watts should be ok... long as its 1 cd rom, 1 hard drive, etc.

Honestly I don't know about the OC'ing of that board, etc. I've never OC'ed an AMD system. All my AMD rigs are running stock.

Also, anyone here know of a good overclocking micro-atx mobo for socket a?

is it really neccessary to post the complete specs of every item?

No, but it was faster just to copy the whole thing and just paste it then to go through and copy each title of a component.
