Assuming you're talking about "for gaming"...yup, the 9800XT.

i just got a 9600 pro......would the gain in performance between the 9600pro and the 9800pro be worth buying the new card?

I would think if you have the Dough then yes .... ( From what I have read anyway )

How much did the 9600 Pro run you ?

I got mine about 4 months ago for 200 bucks. Now I wish I had waited so I could have gotten the 9800 pro deal from newegg :(

Depends what you're playing. 9800p substantially more potent than the 9600p...but if your current games aren't pushing the 9600p...well, up to you and your budget. Under a hundred dollar difference from most places.

I kinda have the same question. I have the 9600np 128. I play games like MOHAA, BF1942. It seems like its playing fine to me, but I guess I dont have something faster to compare it to. I picked up the card at BB on the black friday sale.

The Parhelia is not sweet when it comes to gaming.

It is good for 2D and Multi-Monitor support, that is it.

It isn't a DX9 card, its a DX8 level card.
