Been trying to OC my Radeon 9600 Pro but having some problems getting above stock settings.

Couple questions- Will raising my AGP voltage a notch possibly help in the overclock, AND is this safe to do?

Also, How much of a concern is heat with a stock card? I notice a fairly small fan and no heatsinks on the RAM or anything. Most people seem to get decent overclocks off their cards but I can't get anything atm.

I'm using Radclocker by the way.

9600pro or 9700pro? This thread says 9600, but your sig says 9700.

Yea help me too YoS, whats the first thing to do when OC'ing a card? I need a decent OC, but I dont want to risk frying it.

It depends on the card maker. Asus's Rads actually need an agp voltage as high as 3+V. Generally though raising the agp voltage helps very little with OC'ing your GPU. It can however help eliminate stuttering in certain games. You would need to do a volt mod to the card to supply the core with more current. Here's a great example over here:

I'll start a thread on OC'ing video cards latter and hopefully we can all add to it to exchange tips.:D

Well cypher what would be a good, safe OC, for a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro Atlantis?

make sure the fan is working, on my 9500pro card that i don't game with i noticed that the fan had frozen up, had to rig up a cpu fan on it.

same thing hapened on my mom's TI-500 card, i was wondering why her stuff was so laggy.

will probably just replace the fan on my 9700pro soon as i can get another original amd cpu fan.

Yea I have both actually, but the one I'm OC'ing is this 9600 Pro.

Cypher, my board actually has a AGP voltage soft modifier in the BIOS. I use the Albatron KX600. Read your thread as well, but I still can't figure out why I'm getting zilch on the OC. Will keep at it and check my fans!! (thanks Mark).

Mark-who is that in your avatar?
