Do you think I could get away with this enclosre for the DVD burner that I got from nepenthe?

so this enclosure basically houses the dvd burner and provides a usb connection?

if thats the idea i think maybe the " but..." might be the data transfer rate.

just a guess?

USB 2.0 supports 480M transfers - should be able to keep up with the drive.

usb2 is plenty fast enough. I researched this myself a while back because i had wanted to hook up a dvdrw to a usb1 port off my laptop, not possible.

heck, they even sell external dvdrw's!

Ya never really know if it will work properly till you have the stuff in your hands to test it out.
