we (aka the tech aides at school) use Remote Administrator (http://www.famatech.com/radmin/) to control computers over the network.

Tons of features
Install it as a service, hide the tray icon all included.

Give it a try :thumb:

Did i mention, FREE?!

Pretty much all of them require software installation and configuration,

I use PcAnywhere
Sometimes use VNC....UltraVNC (many versions of VNC....free. Few less features than PcAnywhere, and some minor issues here and there..but it's free)
Also have used Timbuktu
Also have used Carbon Copy

i prefer pcAnywhere as well.

if you're in a bind, NetMeeting has remote desktop sharing. i have used it before and it does work. i would just use something else if at all possible.

I use DameWare, u don't have to install any software yourself on the clientside. You put in the IP/PC Name, and it will detect whether or not the Dameware service is installed and running, if it is not, it will install it for you automatically. And you can even tell it to uninstall the service up disconnect if you wish too. I use it at work and it works great. It's called Dameware Mini Remote control and when used in conjunction with DameWare utilities, it is awesome! You can use it free for 30 days if you wish.
