Just wondering, does anyone know about how much it costs to run a system for a year? From my calculations I got about $245.28 a year for a 400w system at $0.07 per kWh (thats if we say the system consumes 400w constantly), that can't be right can it?

the price sounds right but not the wattage.

agreed.

keep in mind that a 400W PSUs rating is for peak output, not constant. also keep in mind that you will never see a time when all components of a system are all running at peak load/consumption.

as far as the yearly dollar amount, that sounds roughly correct (havent chacked the math, but the math really doesn;t say much about the real-world power consumption of the system). it would probably be lower, but $15 to $25 a month would cover most scenarios (without the monitor on).

Alright, thanx guys. Ya i was just saying 400w constant to get a rough idea.
