Is there any kind of limit on how many partitions you can have on a single hard drive or an array of hard drives?

Have a look at this. (http://www.pcguide.com/ref/hdd/file/structPartitions-c.html) It all changes if you use a boot manager like partition magic, I think you can do almost anything you want then. I use Partition Tools-Boot Star for my dual boot. I have two primary partitions, Bootstar makes the partition I want to boot to "active". I can hide the other partition so my drive letters don't get messed up, the active partition shows up as C:.
