Attn: Imac Users

Hey I have a friend who has an Imac. I have never messed with these buy I am assuming they are the same concept as any other computer. The CMOS? battery is dead (I am assuming it is called the CMOS battery) And now the computer won't post obviously or even turn on. But anyway he also wants to add some additional memory to the computer, like I said I have no idea about these never messed with them. Where can I get memory for an Imac, and is it like SDRAM? or what?

I think imacs use laptop sdram, and about the battery, it shouldnt be too hard, just look around for it, and it should be like a PC..

Also check an Apple Store if you have one local. Surprisingly, their memory prices are good. You might also check CompUSA and MicroCenter as they both sell Apple products.

actually, ive had apple quote me 200 bucks for 256 megs of pc100 laptop ram.. and this was a month ago.. Sometimes they really wanna rip ya off.

Checked it out the ram looks like laptop ram, only one slot, can't find any system specs other than its a Apple Imac don't know if it will support larger ram than what is in it.

You only need the speed of the machine to be able to buy ram for it from crucial.
