We now have 3x options for fast 17" LCD gaming monitors.

Solarism comes out with a fast new 17" LCD with 16ms response times to match Hitatchi and Planar.

I like the folding stand on this....great for easy travel to LAN parties.

Only thing missing is a DVI port on this model...which hopefully will be coming shortly on the next one. But for those without a DVI capable vid card...who want an LCD for gaming...here ya go!

I haven't seen new Sceptre in a while, but I've seen their other monitors in the past. They sell in Tiger Systems catalogs...you get what you pay for, I'll leave it at that.

There are differences in one makers 25ms over another...some perform better than others. My LCD is a year old now, it's old technology. Back then, 25ms was new..and the best I could do. Newer and faster LCD's have since come out, if I were to buy one now...I'd without question get a 16ms one, most likely the Hitatchi, since they're been raved about by so many sites and being very fast and clear. Buying a 25ms LCD now is like going out and spending money on an old GeForce2 video card....why buy such outdated technology when newer and better is out?

If you are looking at budget LCDs, take a peek at the Envision. The 19" actually looked as good if not better than the NEC.

On a personal note, 16ms (12up 4down) is fall superior. Even so, DVI is the only way to go.
