NiMH batteries are easy to replace. worked on them before with R/C cars.

I can tell you it's nicer than my 233mhz, 96mb ram laptop ;)

Actually with only 96mb ram max it limits a lot of things. It won't even handle W2K. I've only been able to run W98 effectively and then opening apps is unbearable.

buddy of mine has three computer, two of which are 233mhz's.

he said when he upgraded from 128megs to 160megs of ram, made a huge differance.

I think i'll end up running linux on it anyway.

I used to have a P1 150MHz 42MB RAM laptop that served me faithfully for many years. Was great for general office apps and internet browsing. Amazing what you can get by with!

I would recommend optimising the OS and removing any unecessary components so that it runs as fast as poss.

Personally I prefer touch pads but that's just me.
