IS overclocking overrated?

Does anyone actually see a speed improvement from 133fsb to 200fsb and such?

Im trying to decide if i want to get some cosair xms and an nforce2 board and try OCin (what board?!?).

of course u see a difference with an increased bus speed. bus speeds are so far behind times its almost needed!

I can see one myself in generall performance and in my benchmarks.

oc'ing is NOT overrated

real gains can be seen and felt, tahts the whole reason

and to squeeze every bit of performance you can for your money

or pay a little less money for a part and run it at the more expensivfe price point for a higher 'rated' speed of that part

all speed is just rated at what that batch passed at and set at that speed, thats why overclocking excists, always room for improvement

As much as I'm loathe to admit it (being that I'm usually a performance-out-of-the-box kind of guy), overclocking can give you significant gains in overall system "zippiness." I can definitely tell a difference between the stock 3.06 GHz speed and the 3.5 GHz I'm currently overclocked to.

see, even burke can get into it!

I'd much rather deal with "Did I forget to disable System Restore" than "Did I forget our anniversary?"

Too bad women don't have a reset CMOS jumper.

If not 2.4Ghz solid, probably close.

I guess u got a good buy

Highs
Amazing potential
Seem to run at high speeds with minimal voltage increases
Cheap
Fantastic price-to-performance ratio

Lows

None at this price

hehe :D
Let us know how good it OC ;)
