So how is your AMD adventure working out for you? I know it's basicly a folding drone for you, but still you seem to have a curious nature. I'm sure you're investigating how it ticks.;)

I found out the A7N266-VM board cannot overclock at ALL, so it's relegated to unsupervised Folding. Waiting on a new HSF to come in next week...the CPU is 53 C right now under load on the stock HSF, but of course since the ****ING APARTMENT MANAGEMENT STILL HASN'T FIXED MY MOTHER****ING AIR CONDITIONING, that's the main problem.

EDIT: It's 81 degrees in this place right now. I'm going to be FORCED to go buy an oscillating fan for the room.

that sucks about the no air conditioning :(

its getting warm here too

I have 3 oscillating fans at my place, it can get quite toasty with all the computer stuff

I had all the windows open last night and I froze. Now, I'm sweating like hell. Ugh.

BTW...NB on my IT7-MAX2 is at 45 C...WITH active cooling.

I did'nt think you were planning to OC it. If it's going to Just fold I would put a blow hole on the top of the case and the side directly over the NB and CPU. That way you can tuck it away and let it fold on without a care.

I put a Panaflo H1A fan in for exhaust, so that's helping it out some, but I may end up having to drill a freakin' blowhole.

I'm in the same boat here. I ordered 2 92mm, 6 80mm Panaflos, and a 92mm grill for the blowhole on top. I'm going all Panaflo on the case. I'll use a dremmel if I have to but I'd much rather use a Greenly hole punch tool. Their alot more precise and less messy too.

Good Lord...how big of a case do you have??

There it is.:D 2 of the 80s for exhaust,2 on the side, 2 in the front. 1 92 goes in the second HD bay and the other gets cut in the top. I figure I'll need case fans when I finally go H20.

My gawd, I have never seen such a place that stress's over cpu temp as much as this place does in my life.

Burke, 52 c is not high at all for that CPU. Hell before I yanked the cover off my server(lian li) and put room sized fans were the covers used to be the proccessors were hitting 68 c folding. I wouldn't even consider it as hot unless the thing was hitting 65c +.

If your looking for a cpu that runs cool than stick to Intel and Motorola. AMD's just run hot, like I said before AMD say's it ain't cooking time till it hits around 90c +.

Don't trip over the temp, you have a retail unit and its there HSF so if it does the "China Syndrome", there gonna have to step up to the plate and give ya another CPU!

Well no wonder...it's one of those monster cases.

I'm just concerned about when it actually gets hot outside -- the highs are only in the upper 70's right now.

An oscillating fan is a good thing to have around anyway, so I'll probably pick one up this weekend. I do NOT want be Folding in the middle of The Great Gatsby come July. :D

Your system is still running cooler than mine. Don't stress your fine. Most newer boards have the ability to shut the system down if it gets too hot. Give it a check and say set it to 65c.

That's what I set it at. I knew the infamous AMD heat paranoia would set in eventually!
