that is the question. :)

I am going to be assembling my new system today/tomorrow and am curious if you guys think I should get some software to burn it in before starting to use it on a regular basis. I think quijib0 pointed to some software called Sisoft ? or something like that. (I'll have to search for the thread.)

The CPU is a P4 2.4BGHz w/533MHz FSB on an ECS mobo and 1024MB of Corsair XMS PC2700 RAM and 9700 Pro.

Anyway... I want your guys' opinions and perhaps some thoughts on why or why not.

Thanks. :)

I really don't burn stuff in anymore, just load up 3dmark or something and loop it for a while, its no biggie

run prime95 and loop 3dmark, that will stress your cpu + vid card all at the same time

sandra also has a burn in function if you want to try it

Or just load F@H and let it do its thing.

I'll try those out and loop them at first.

How long do you think is sufficient ? 6 hours ? 12 ? 24 ?

Thanks Brent. :)

F@h is the only benchmarking and burn in tool you need.
100% CPU utilization 24/7

if you just want to test the stability of the system, just leave it running with 3Dmark2k1 for a fe whours (4 to 6 hours) should do the trick. You'll know if it's stable or not then.

For me it's a bit different, I leave my rig on for a week to see how stable it will be after continue usage and downloading. Seems to handle it all well oced and cooled. :D

I typically burn in with long nights of battlefield 1942 DC with F@H running in the background!!! :D
