I see that GEIL and Corsair are offering "low latency" modules at a premium. Am I to assume that they are advantageous in nforce2 boards with dual channel ddr? Does it make a practical difference in speed?

Difference in performance. Your latency is determined by your motherboard anyway, not your ram. So your ram supporting it merely means a small OC isnt neccessary.

it's just the extra kick it packs along side with stability.
