Burke hooked us up with an awsome canterwood mobo preview.
I have been looking for 4 other things...
1. suposed retail price for canterwood motherboards
2. lineup of 800mhz fsb P4's
3. supposed retail price for upcoming p4's
4. supposed (if any) price drops for current intel lineup
I figured answer's to these question would help more than just me so for the sake of current and future intel owners it would be a great help if you could share any information you know on the above.
TIA
shaggy
2.) didn't know there were any 800mhz P4s out yet...?
3.) if they're brand new in excess of 3.06ghz w/HT they will prolly be around $590-$650 (just an educated guess)
@newegg the
3.06ghz P4 is currently
$510 and $514 retail
i think the 3ghz P4 was around $600 when it came out...
I'd figure $200+ for the Canterwood mobos, $600 for the 800 MHz P4s.

Try about $650. It stuck at around $635 for a while, now it's gone waaaaay down.
I believe that the 800 MHz FSB CPUs will be available in the 3.06 and up range to begin with, but eventually Intel will put out 2.4 GHz and up CPUs with it.
Or maybe I'm thinking Hyperthreading....?

ite 3.06ghz 800fsb chip was estimated at 590, considering the original price of the first HT cip, the price inst so high, but i'd wait :)

The current p4 2.4ghz northwood has HT right?
Well here's my big question...
The Asus p4pe black pearl cost 140 right now, and the p4 2.4ghz 533 cost 160. So the setup I want is gonna cost me $300. What do you think the new releases will bump that down to?
Some fear tells me the recently big price drops were the pricedrop for the upcoming releases and they wont change at all.

HardOCP is total chaos IMHO. But I read most of it. Seems like its a toss up and some have it and some don't. Probably added it into revisions?

Pentium 4 2.40, 2.60 and 2.80GHz processors with 800MHz QPB and the Hyper-Threading technology will enter the arena on the 20th of May. The Pentium 4 2.40C, 2.60C and 2.80C CPUs will cost $278, $218 and $178 respectively at the launch if Intel does not change its plans again.
If thats a typo which it looks like it is, then the 2.4 will cost 178, ill wait. You guys are all getting canterwood right?

That would kick some ass. Then I'd need to sell my corsair and video card. Get some corsair xms pc3500 and a ti4800.

wow did you see when the p4t533 came out...last july and it still wins quite a few benchmark tests...w00t. When canterwood actually comes out ill have to see if the upgrade will actually be any better than what i have now. I might still hang on to this one for awhile since it supports HT.....still wondering if this ES 2.2a
could be HT enabled?
