I'm attempting to put together another machine using some old parts from others I have laying around. Is it better to Fdisk in the old machine and pull it out blank.....or.....pull it out of old and put it into new machine, then Fdisk during set up and partitioning?

Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

For a complete rebuild, I do believe in FDISK'ing, blowing away any existing partitions, creating a new one, formatting, and installing. If you're using Windows NT 4, 2K, XP, all easily done right when you boot from the Windows cd-rom during setup, as you go to install the OS. If you're installing Win9X, have to use the old FDISK from a boot disk.

Wether you do it before you remove it from the old computer (not really any reason to), or, might as well wait until you're running setup on the new installation.
