all theys types of rams confuse me

RAM: DDR 266/333 ( PC2100/2700) Non-ECC 3 x DIMM

Thats DRR SDRAM or DRR-Dimm

heres the ram im trying to stick in it

Corsair CMX512-3200C2PT 512MB DDR400 PC3200 64Mx64 184 DIMM Cas2

DDR-SDRAM
Double Data Rate-Synchrous(sp) Dynamic RAM
http://searchstorage.techtarget.com/sDefinition/0,,sid5_gci213885,00.html

PC 2100 = 200mhz
PC 2700 = 333mhz
PC 3000 = 370mhz
PC 3200 = 400mhz
PC 3500 = 434mhz

the RAM actually runs at 1/2 the rated speed since it transmits at the rise and fall of the clock cycles, doubling the speed..
(I think I got that right)

Will that ram work with that Mobo Its that GB ultra 2 It has RAM: DDR 266/333 ( PC2100/2700) Non-ECC 3 x DIMM slots

What confusing me is DDR Dimm and DDR SDram are they the same thing ?

you didn't say what mobo..

but I assume you mean GA8PE667 Ultra 2 ...

couple threads down?..

yes it will

DDR RAM = DDR SDRAM = DDR DIMM

sme sites like Newegg it will also say 184pin DDR DIMM

DIMM = Dual Inline Memory Module

officially the board supports
only PC1600, PC2100, and PC2700 but the PC3200 should work as well..
(missed that earlier)

Since that board officially supports DDR333 (PC2700), you can just get some of that and be off and running. Get the higher speeds (PC3200/DDR400, PC3500/DDR433) if you want to overclock. The CAS2 is the latency of the RAM; the lower the better.

Thanks for clearing that up guys :D
